Big Data Engineer (Perm Role)- London
We're currently hiring for Big Data Engineer for one of our hubs in London. We've grown significantly over the last few years and our ability to keep things running is largely due to the team we have looking after the Data Engineering. We're looking for a Big Data Engineer to join our team to help in creating our data hub and centralizing the data for the dynamic fast paced environment used by millions of global users.
As our Big Data Engineer, you'll be coming in to work with one of the fastest growing iGaming companies in Europe. We're pushing the boundaries with their games and services available for their customers and the Data Engineering department is growing in 2017 to help capitalise further and shape our iGaming portfolio for years to come. Our Big Data Engineers will be coming in to help us untangle our web of unstructured data and create something that is useable by internal stakeholders and product teams to make informed decisions on new features, products and ideas to create.
You'll be working and learning from some of the best people in the industry and we're looking for someone who loves to try out new things, learn and adapt to challenging situations to keep our internal and external services running.
The team you'll come into are part of a Big Data team which works collectively with Data Warehouse Developers, Business Intelligence Developers and Data Scientists, etc.
Although you'll be working for one company, the group having their presence in multiple locations and around 2500 employees working with the company, more than 1000 people are working in Malta and a small (newish) team set up specifically for Big Data in London. You'll be working with quite an international environment, people from different nationalities are working with our company.
We are really looking for someone who is a strong Big Data Engineer, someone who can work on the Hadoop ecosystem to solve large scale problems. Specifically, we're looking for people with experience in traditional data warehouse systems and RDBMS in a SQL Server environment who have moved across and have experience working with languages such as Scala, Flume, Spark and Hive (amongst others).
