Your CV is the key to getting an interview, but is likely to be scan read for just seconds before the reader decides whether to save or delete it. Follow these tips to create a CV that wins interviews.

  • 1st Impressions: Your summary paragraph should be concise and make your key strengths immediately obvious. Take time to tailor this to suit the vacancy you are applying for.
  • The design and layout should be clean and easy to read. Avoid fancy fonts, block capitals and under/oversized text.
  • Your CV will be one of many seen by a potential employer; it should be written in such a fashion that the reader will assimilate your key attributes from a scan reading. This should entice a more detailed read.
  • Employers are not looking for robots; a personalized CV is good as long as it does not detract attention from your key skills.
