Vertex Solutions creates clear Niche Focus

Vertex Solutions, an IT and Technology recruiter established since 1997, have undertaken a process of change to establish and communicate three clear and distinct divisions of their business.

“Humilis” is a new brand to recognise Vertex’s market leading presence within the HR Cloud or HCM market place. Vertex Digital and Vertex Technology are created to recognise specialisms within these market places.

Mark Beard, Group Chairman, informs us about the thinking behind this change:

“This move allows a clearer message to market as to our niche specialisms. We believe that being Niche is critical in the “new recruitment landscape”. It also allows the principals of the respective divisions to embark on a path to eventual ownership of the division. Each vertical has a Managing Director or an Associate Director appointed and for these individuals; it is a fantastic opportunity to grow their own business and hold an equity stake in order to play a part in the eventual financial upside. Ed Kelly, MD Humilis, has already proven the model and that business unit is enjoying fantastic success. We are looking forward to repeating the same within technology and digital. We are also reviewing the potential for other market focusses as the group expands.”

Further to this; Vertex have changed their internal structure by moving away from the traditional “360” mode in most areas. This has been replaced by specialist “talent developers” and “market developers” and glued together through dedicated Account Managers. In making this structural change the business hopes to allow consultants to play to their strengths and do what they do best for more of the time. The model is already proving a great success and Vertex have been able to surprise a number of clients with turn around times and our ability to produce talent that is not widely available in the market place.

These changes underpin a year of challenge and excitement for the Vertex group. All signs are that they have been positive and it is pleasing to see this reinforced by a record breaking month in January 2015!
